August 2008 Liquidating Aussie liquids Starbucks has found that the coffee culture in Oz is far more cosmopolitan than they can dish out and have started to close 61 of their 84 outlets across the antipodean continent. Also in retreat, Cadbury is aiming to sell its Australian drinks brand to help it meet profits targets. Is the Australian market slightly more complicated than simply transplanting Anglo-Saxon or North American practices?
