The Four Rs

As more and more brands (and their products) go online or digital, the more it is assumed that audiences are ready or ‘literate’.

Literacy is typically about the ability to read and write (and, by some definitions, spell, listen, and speak).

The ‘Three Rs’ refers to Reading, wRiting, and aRithmetic.

But what about digital literacy?

Does your audience understand
Rasterization,
Render,
(access) Rights,
Resolution,
Radio (button),
RAM,
(search) Ranking,
README (file),
Real-time,
RealPlayer,
Reboot,
Refresh,
Reload,
Root (level),
or
Runtime (program)?

We should assume very low levels of computer/digital literacy, and tailor online experiences accordingly.
