December 2008 Branded utility? Brands excel, and build respect, when they can fulfill unusual requests. Of course it is not a question of extending way beyond business scope. It is about pushing the boundaries to ensure customer satisfaction. Checking-in an umbrella may seem like a quirky request. However when advised that airport security staff are not that partial to large opening objects containing metal, seeing to that the umbrella arrives at the customer’s destination (via the aircraft hold) is the right thing to do.
